Early Fall, 1958, two guys named Ron were singing a'capella on the front steps of one of
their Pawtucket, R.I. homes and thought it would be good idea to get together with some
friends and form a vocal group. Ron Deighan, Ron Grenier, George Tootell, Gary Sabourin,
and Joe Fiske combined their vocal talents to become “Ronnie and the Satellites”.

Danny Dale Over The Years

Some of Danny's reflections on his Ronnie and the Satellites days ...
"I've never lost sight of where it all started for Danny Dolan. I won't ever forget
Lincoln Park; The Prom Ballroom; Putnam Sports Arena; State Theater, Hartford, CT
... etc., etc., and etc."
"Although "Ronnie and the Satellites" were the "Celebrities", little Danny Dolan at
age 14/15 was more than just along for the ride. In reality, I was the "music director"
for the "Satellite" back-up band."
"In 1963, I changed my name to Danny Dale and I pursued an illustrious career for 45
years throughout the United States plus Overseas on three different occasions."
"Just the same, "Ronnie and the Satellites" was my first real endeavor and
introduction into show business. Our popularity in New England was certainly
renowned; especially for a 14 year old Pawtucket boy who wasn't even old enough
to drive a motor vehicle."
"I sincerely thank you, Ronnie Dee, for that opportunity along with the memories that
have lasted a lifetime."
We, Ronnie and the Satellites, thank YOU, Danny Dolan aka Danny Dale, for ALL
YOUR contributions to our success. There will always be a place for you in the
group should you ever decide to return to Rhode Island!!
Stay well and happy, our Dear Friend! We miss you and wish all the very best!!
